Nuffnang Blog Awards, Here I Come

I have been blogging for a while now. I regard words as sustenance, like air and water, and I blog - to survive. When I began "The Drama Queen Can Tell Stories", I just wanted to create a perfect space for myself in the web, where I could rant, boast, delight, sulk and combust. I wasn't familiar with "audience blogging" so I thought I was writing to no one but myself, until I got my first comment.

After that I suddenly became aware of what was out there. Soon enough I learned about backlinks, chatboxes, widgets, ad spaces ... and I realized that blogging is more than writing, it is hard work. In my attempt to do things right, I hopped from one blog to another and applied what the other blogs have, to my own.

I noticed this badge in almost every site I visited. Curious, I clicked the link and that opened up a whole new blogging world for me. Compared to other Nuffnang bloggers I am still a novice, but I'm ready to make things bigger and better.. I want to attend "The Nuffnang Asia- Pacific Blog Awards" because:

1. I want to feel important as a blogger. Not a lot of people understand how blogging works and why people blog, in the first place. It's hard to explain to them, the level of satisfaction I get when I see people appreciate what I write. When I tell them about the free stuff I get from blogging and the money I receive from my ads, they begin to understand how serious it is. So I'm sure an invitation to this prestigious event will make a huge difference. Plus, who knows, this might be my ticket to becoming "Nuffnang's Blogger of the Month" (Yes, I dream about that sometimes).

2. I want to go back to Malaysia! A few years back my friends and I packed our bags and left work to visit KL for the first time. For nine days we devoured every bit of KL and fell in love, not only with the place, but with the people, as well. Suffice it to say, a part of myself will always be in Malaysia and an opportunity to attend this year's Nuffnang Asia-Pacific Blog Awards in Malaysia would mean being reunited with that part of myself, that I left behind.

3. It's just going to be cool. I'd have to be honest. If I get awarded an exclusive invite to the event, I will jump for joy until I can't jump anymore. I love events; I love parties; and I'd love an opportunity to meet bloggers and new friends. It's not everyday that you get the chance to attend something like this (free hotel accommodation and all), so it's really a big deal. It also means that Christmas will be coming earlier to me this year, and 2011 will definitely close as awesome as I hoped for it to.

Come 16 December 2011, 500 bloggers from around the Asia-Pacific region will flock to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for the Nuffnang Asia-Pacific Blog Awards 2011 in Putrajaya Marriott. The Awards aims to not only honour the region's best bloggers, but also to bring together blogger communities from across Asia-Pacific. The Nuffnang Asia-Pacific Blog Awards is brought to you by Volkswagen Malaysia and Putrajaya Marriott.
